Ingredients:
- 2 - 9" unbaked pie shells*
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tbsp fresh orange juice*
- 1 tbsp butter*
- 4 cups fresh cranberries*
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp fresh grated orange rind*
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped*
- 1 egg + 1 tsp water, for egg wash
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425*F.
- Place cranberries, water and sugar in a medium sized saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Stir in flour and corn syrup and cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Pour mixture into pie shell and cover with the other, cutting 4 dashes into crust. Whisk together egg and water, and brush top of pie crust with mixture.
- Bake 25-30 minutes, until crust is golden brown and filling is thick and bubbly.
